New Jupiter Police Department K-9 makes his debut!

The Jupiter Police Department is excited to introduce “Bandit” the newest member of the department’s K-9 Team. Bandit is an eleven-week old male Bloodhound puppy that was purchased through funding donated by the Jupiter Police Foundation.

In addition, Bandit has been affectionately named in memory of Burt Reynolds, and his award winning “Smokey and the Bandit” movies. Bandit will begin his eight to ten month long training this month and will be utilized by the police department for tracking missing children and endangered persons.

“We are excited for this opportunity to add “Bandit” to our Team. These police dogs are important members of our department and provide the ability for detection and tracking services that keep our community safe,” said Chief Daniel Kerr.
